HUGH MCILVANNEY

Hugh McIlvanney is widely regarded as the outstanding sports writer of his generation and has, seven times, been voted Sports Writer of the Year in the British Press awards.

He was awarded the OBE in 1996 for services to sports journalism and last year collaborated with Manchester United's manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, on his award-winning autobiography.
