EDWARD GORMAN
Sailing Correspondent
Edward Gorman has worked for The Times since 1987. After covering the Soviet war in Afghanistan, he was for four years the Times
correspondent in Northern Ireland. A keen yachtsman and owner of a 35ft cruising yacht, he was appointed Sailing Correspondent in 1996 and covered the Olympic regatta at Savannah later
that year. Since then he has covered two Admiral's Cups, the America's Cup, the last Whitbread
Race and has helped to promote the resurgence of single-handed ocean racing
in Britain.
