THE TIMES 'WIN A TRIP TO AUSTRALIA’ PROMOTION PRIZE DRAW RULES

1. The ‘Win A Trip to Australia’ promotion (the "Promotion") will run on The Times and Sunday Times’ Olympics online special (the "Website") from 14/8/00 to 1/10/00 inclusive.

2. The closing date for entries to the Prize Draw is at 11.59pm, Sunday 1st October 2000.

3. The Promotion prize draw is open only to all UK residents, 18 years or over. Employees of News Promotions Ltd, The Times and The Sunday Times and their associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their families, agents, or anyone connected with this Promotion, are excluded from entry.

4. No purchase is necessary, but entrants should be aware that they may be subject to local call charges depending on their own individual arrangements for Internet access.

5. An eligible entrant must be an individual and must register on the Website to receive The Times/The Sunday Times Olympics Email Bulletin as referred to on the Website.

6. By entering, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all these General Rules. The Times and News Promotions Ltd reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of these General Rules.

7. All eligible entrants agree to be fully liable for all personal or incidental expenses incurred in claiming and benefiting from a prize unless clearly specified otherwise in these General Rules or on the Website.

8. Eligible entrants are limited to one entry per valid email address and registration.

9. The prize is non-transferable and there are no alternative prizes.

10. All eligible entrants will be entered into a prize draw. A prize draw winner will be selected at random from amongst all the eligible entrants.

11. The prize for the promotion will be a 14 night holiday for two people to Australia comprising 2 economy flights from the UK, airport transfers and a four star hotel. The trip is to be taken between 10th November 2000 to 9th November 2001, and is subject to availability. Choice of carrier and travel agency is at all times at the discretion of The Times Newspaper Group. The winner will be notified of details upon being informed of wining the prize draw.

12. The prize draw will take place during the week commencing Monday 2nd October 2000, by representatives of the TNL editorial team.

13. The winner will be notified by email and/or telephone during the week commencing Monday 2nd October 2000. All reasonable endeavours will be made to contact the winner during that week.

14. If the winner cannot be contacted before the close of business on Friday 6th October 2000, the promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw subject to the same terms and conditions specified herein. In any case, a 2nd round winner will be contacted before Wednesday 11th October 2000.

15. The winner will receive the prize in the form of a letter via post indicating further details of the prize before 30th October 2000.

16. All travel costs aside from the that stated in Clause 11, are to be borne by the winner.

17. News Promotions Ltd will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections which may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant's ability to participate in the Promotion.

18. News Promotions Ltd does not accept liability for lost, corrupted, damaged, delayed or otherwise invalidated claims or claims which are otherwise not received electronically by the Website server.

19. By entering, any subsequent prize winner agrees to allow the free use of their name, photographs and general locations for publicity and news purposes during this and future promotions by The Times or any associated or subsidiary company of News International plc.

20. Uses of personal data received by the promoter resulting from registration with registration on the Website for the Olympic Bulletin are subject to the privacy policy on the Website.

21. The Times reserves the right to amend these General Rules. Any amendments will be published on the Website.

22. The winner’s name will be published on the Website at a date and time to be determined by the promoter of this prize draw.

23. Completion of registration details will be deemed to be acceptance of these General Rules.
