STEPH COOK
Cook, 28, lives and trains in Bath. She took part in her first pentathlon while reading medicine at Oxford University. She qualified as a doctor in 1997, by which time she had competed for Britain, placing fifth in her first world cup. In March this year she won an Olympic qualifying event in Mexico City to earn selection for the Games. She capitalised on that in July, when she won the silver medal at the European Championships.
