KATE ALLENBY

Allenby, 26, lives and trains in Bath. As a girl growing up in Devon, she started her sporting days as a "tetrathete" - swimming, running, shooting and cross-country running. In 1994, she won a bronze medal at her first world junior championships in pentathlon, improving to the silver medal at the same event a year later. In 1997, she became European champion and a year later World Cup champion. Kate was individual European Champion in 1997 and World Cup Champion in 1998. Here selection for Sydney follows a sixth-place finish at the world championships in Italy in June.
