Russia’s Alexei Nemov proved himself to be a clear favorite for the Olympic all-round men’s gymnastics gold when he set the qualifying pace in four events.
Nemov was the all-around qualifying leader with 58.361 points to 57.812 for teammate Alexei Bondarenko with Bulgaria’s Iordan Iovtchev third at 57.599. Russia, the defending Olympic champions, were top of the team standings as well.
