CHRIS HOY (23-3-76)

Born in Edinburgh. Shares his time between Edinburgh and Manchester. Last year he graduated from Moray House Institute of Education which is part of Edinburgh University, with a degree in sports science. He started his cycling career as a BMX rider and represented Great Britain. In 1987 he was ranked ninth in the world as an 11 year old. He then moved on to Mountain Biking before realising his true potential as a track rider. He is a multi-medal winner at the National Track Championships. In 1999 Hoy, Craig MacLean and Jason Queally won the European Olympic Sprint Championship and finished in the silver-medal position at the World Championships in the Olympic Sprint In Sydney he will compete in the Olympic Sprint, Sprint and Keirin.
