ROB HAYLES (21-1-73)

Born in Cowplain, Hants, but now lives in Stockport with his girlfriend Vicki Horner, a member of the swimming team in Sydney. Sydney will be his second Olympic Games. His father is a former professional wrestler who also enjoyed cycle racing. He is national track champion many times over. This year he also won the National Criterium Championship. In 1994 he won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria, as a member of the England Team Pursuit. At the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur he won silver medals in the Points Race and as a member of the England Team Pursuit. He will be busy during the Games; he has been selected for the 4,000m Individual Pursuit, the Points Race and Madison, in which he will partner Bradley Wiggins.
