CAMPBELL SUSPENDED

NEIL CAMPBELL (18-2-74)

Lives in Bebbington, Wirral. This is his first Olympic Games. He combines his cycling with studies. He is currently studying for a degree in health, science and biology at the Open University. Before turning to cycling Campbell was the under 60kg junior North West judo champion. His judo club closed down so he switched to cycling and started competing in 1993. He has won medals in the Sprint, Keirin and Olympic Sprint at the National Championships and is a past British tandem champion. In Sydney he was to have competed in the 1km. However, he was withdrawn from the squad and suspended pending an inquiry by the British Cycling Federation.
