US WOMEN MOVE INTO FINAL
THE United States women's squad overcame a good team and a hostile environment to defeat Australia 76-54.
The United States never gave the Australian crowd a chance to get into the game and cruised to their second straight Olympic gold medal and fourth in five tries.
Lisa Leslie and Natalie Williams scored 15 points apiece for the favoured Americans, who were cast as bullies during the tournament but never wavered, winning each of their eight games by at least 11 points.
